Residential-led mixed-use scheme, Ipswich

We are delighted to announce that our reserved matters design on behalf of Galliard Homes for a residential-led mixed-use scheme at Grafton Way, Ipswich received a unanimous vote in favour of approval at last week’s committee meeting at Ipswich Borough Council.  Mountford Pigott’s outline planning application for 173 new houses and Class E development was submitted in June 2019 and considered by the planning committee in December 2020 although consent was granted earlier this year.  The development adopts a high-density approach to urban housing  with many houses benefitting from south facing river views from upper level terraces as well as access into communal garden spaces modelled on traditional garden squares.  The site extends from Princes Street Bridge to Stoke Bridge and will incorporate a new riverside walk and cycle route which will improve sustainable transport linkage between Ipswich Train Station and the town centre.  Construction is expected to commence before the end of the year.
