Segro, Sunbury-on-Thames
Mountford Pigott LLP were appointed as architects by SEGRO Properties Ltd to prepare designs for this greenbelt site in 2024.
Initial analysis considered both single warehouse and multiunit schemes. This exercise resulted in a 22,300m² single warehouse scheme. This site is sensitive not only due to its greenbelt classification and its immediate proximity to a Site of Interest for Nature Conservation (SINC) to the east, but also due to its close proximity to two storey residential on the north boundary and existing heritage assets to the east.
A detailed LVIA study informed both the height of the building and the materials used, particularly for the more prominent parts of the warehouse. Graduated light colours cladding was employed to minimise visual impact. The lower office element design makes reference to the adjacent dense linear wood, employing more earthy tones and introducing timber brise soleil.
We hope to be on site in 2027.
